  7. VBA Password able to recover lost or forgotten password to VBA modules in Word or Excel
  8. documents. All Office versions (including Office2000) are supported.
  9. To run the program you need MFC v4.0 run-time DLLs (mfc40.dll and msvcrt40.dll). These DLLs
  10. are quite common, most probably you already have them. You can download these DLLs from
  11. http://soft4you.com/DownLoad/dllset.zip if necessary.

  13. Password protection for VBA modules was revised in Office 2000. Old VBA modules (prior to
  14. Office2000) have weak protection algorithm; password can be recovered instantly. In Office2000
  15. algorithm has been improved, the only way to recover original password is a brute-force attack
  16. (Please visit http://soft4you.com/vitas/psw.htm to find more info about password recovery methods).
  17. This means that only short passwords could be recovered, long passwords take a lot of times (months,
  18. years, ..up to infinity). Hopefully improved algorithm is still unsafe - it's possible to reset
  19. the password to known one. VBA Password supports all described recovery methods. It shows original
  20. password instantly for old-format VBA modules, it can perform brute-force attack to reveal original
  21. password in Office2000 VBA modules, it can set password to known ('123'). In general you should
  22. not use brute-force unless you need to find original password itself.
